A community organization dedicated to providing a central place to review Park Ridge Traffic and Safety issues with its citizens and their elected Representatives and City's management. To practice and promote the responsible use of our roads, traffic systems and resources. To educate and enlist citizens to protect and restore the quality of our auto and pedestrian traffic as one of our cherished human environments in Park Ridge. CORRECTS - Citizens Organized for Reasonable Routes Enhancing Community Traffic & Safety believes that citizen's pedestrian safety, auto safety and reasonable routes comes first in city traffic. That before adding a traffic signal or traffic signals which generates slow traffic, bumper-to-bumper traffic, traffic gridlock, traffic complaints, traffic crashes, traffic signs, traffic bottleneck, automobile traffic, traffic congestion, rush hour traffic, bumper to bumper traffic, traffic congestion, rush hour traffic and automobile traffic, that a Park Ridge Alderman and/or Park Ridge Aldermen, should require a traffic study to avoid this auto traffic scenario in Park Ridge, Illinois. Only reasonable auto traffic should be permitted to provide reasonable routes with traffic safety and avoid traffic accidents, traffic injuries, pedestrian injuries, auto accidents, traffic problems, which will also decrease pedestrian traffic in Park Ridge and thus negatively affect retail sales and our quality of life. We encourage Park Ridge citizens to register and for all voters to vote only for a Park Ridge Alderman / Park Ridge Aldermen Park Ridge Mayor that promises to ensure Reasonable Routes and City Traffic Safety. Today’s Park Ridge City Policy of waiting for citizens to first be injured, maimed and dead, while creating a serious crisis of traffic congestion, in traffic routes and hurting existing retail businesses, is unacceptable. CORRECTS holds itself out as an Open Forum to provide an opportunity for citizens and organizations to inform the public of events, issues or projects. This will allow you to report anything you wish to see addressed or answered regarding traffic anywhere in Park Ridge. Your input on this issue if vital to all of us. “Citizens Organized for Reasonable Routes Enhancing Community Traffic & Safety” (CORRECTS)  is a traffic activist group is to provide information regarding unsafe, underperforming or improperly configured streets in Park Ridge to its citizens so as to raise awareness and provide a central place to clear ideas through our website WWW.CORRECTS.ORG or other traditional means. 

The City should not install a $1.5 million dollars stop light at Touhy and Meacham, as their plans currently calls for. The light is unrealistic regarding the impact of multiple bottlenecks along  Touhy, Northwest Highway, Summit, Washington and Greenwood in all directions. Most bottlenecks will be significant enough to generate and cause gridlocks throughout the whole of Uptown and Central Park Ridge.

This is because, in order to accommodate the light many changes are required by IDOT which will collapse traffic on roads they do not care about.

We believe it retain Meacham is needed to provide for traffic  North and South.

The light would bring about 3,000 cars an hour passing through and 820 cars an hour turning at that intersection which will make it o unsafe to cross and is simply too steep a price in human tragedy for the intrinsically unsafe crosswalk. There have are already been two killed and three maimed of which one lost both her legs.

The City needs to provide safe connectivity to the other 100 acres of TIFF approved property as well as adequate traffic flow, which as proposed is rated by IDOT as from "F" failing to "C".

Additionally, with the newly removed available parking and the failure to provide shared residence parking with shoppers, the plan requires shoppers to cross Touhy at their peril and use the Library lot. This was not how the citizens were sold on this plan. The underground parking has virtually already been dug by virtue of the water reservoir. Why are the town-home’s parking separate and not connected as well as residing under Summit?

The City Council needs to remove the appearance of conflicts which prevent safety or which tends to prevent the public officials from giving to the public that impartial and faithful service which you are duty bound to render and which the public has every right to demand and receive.
