Washington to Washington Reconnection

I believe a Washington to Washington Reconnection is necessary for Uptown to handle the traffic on Northwest Highway

The Mayor and City has hired Civiltech a professional Traffic Consulting firm to analyze Washington and northwest Highway to determine the traffic and safety problems and to plan for the Developments that are currently being requested by Developers there and coming in Uptown on N.W. Hwy.

The plan would reduce the stoplights there to only one. At Touhy they would create a permanent left turn lane and add a right turn lane. Traffic heading north on N.W. Hwy. would no longer be restricted by left turns as they would be made via this Washington improvement.

Also, this would allow our pedestrian crosswalk on N.W. Hwy. to have a stoplight installed and connect Prospect to the new development on N.W. Hwy and Touhy at Six-corners at a future date. This option is only available with the Washington to Washington Reconnection.

Developers in this area would comply with the city’s plan for this reconnection to obtain special use requests from the city. This would help fund the project.

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all.
